--- Rules on BibTeX entries

to be used when updating the publications data-base

These rules were approved by the Coordinating Board (2007.12.10)

1. When the document language is not English, use, e.g., one of
lang={Portuguese}
lang={French}
lang={Spanish}


2. For documents accepted for publication, use
year={to appear}

3. The following data entries should be used if possible/adequate
url=
abstract=


4. The following data entry must be provided
liaccclass={CLASS}
so that parts of activity reports and similar material can be automatically produced.

The CLASS to enter is the first in the following list that fits the document:

  1. short             short paper, poster, abstract, extended abstract, summary, or demo
  2. phd                PhD thesis supervised by a LIACC member
  3. phdmember     PhD thesis obtained by a LIACC member
  4. msc                MSc thesis
  5. inprocwide    in proceedings with wide distribution, published by major international house or institution
  6. inproc            in other proceedings
  7. journal           article in international journal and independent reviewing system
  8. othjournal      other journals
  9. inbook            in book
  10. proc                edition of proceedings
  11. book               authoring/edition of book
  12. manual           manuals and software descriptions
  13. other              anything else

5. If liaccclass={inprocwide} use the type @inproceedings; for instance, for full-papers in proceedings in Springer-Verlag LNCS and LNAI series, use this type and the data entry
series=
with the series name and the number in the series

6. If liacclass={inbook} use the type either @inbook if there is no editor, or @incollection otherwise

7. When in doubt ask the Coordinating Board
